Can You Really Treat PTSD With Medical Cannabis?

Patients who turn to medical cannabis often report significant reductions in anxiety, a common symptom of PTSD, and improved sleep patterns. These changes can be crucial for breaking the cycle of stress and trauma recurrence. Furthermore, medical cannabis has been found to help in reducing the emotional impact of memories and increasing the sense of calm and safety.

While it is not a cure-all, medical cannabis presents a promising complementary therapy that can be integrated into a broader treatment plan. It is vital, however, to consult with healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable in both PTSD and cannabis-based treatments to tailor a therapy plan that is both safe and effective for your individual needs.

With quick access to your health records, we eliminate the usual delays associated with syncing up with your primary healthcare providers. Our process is streamlined for efficiency.

Is Anyone Eligible For Medical Cannabis?

Following the legalisation of cannabis for medical purposes in 2018, regulated medicinal cannabis, prescribed by a licenced specialist doctor, is an entirely legitimate, safe and effective treatment option for the relief of chronic joint pain.

There are some eligibility criteria, however. You must be over the age of 21, have no history of certain mental health disorders, and have proof of trying two previously prescribed treatments. If you match all three, you are eligible.

How Soon Can We Treat It?

How does today sound?

Our doctors are available from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday, with appointments usually available within hours.

The first step is to create your Treat It profile. It only takes a few minutes and just means our doctors can learn a little more about you, your chronic pain symptoms, as well your condition and treatment history.

And unlike other providers, we also have – with your consent – secure access to your NHS care records, meaning there’s no need to wait days or weeks to align your treatment with your GP or hospital. Following a detailed, online consultation, a prescription can be generated swiftly, in accordance with clinical guidance, your existing medical history and any treatment plans.

Does It Have To Be Medical Cannabis?

No, not at all.

We also have a team of GPs available for you to discuss your health issues with and provide advice on the range of treatment options that may work for your chronic pain management. They are free to talk to you now on our GP Service, which – like Treat It – has doctors available 8am – 8pm every day, with appointments usually available within hours.
